Junior Mission Systems Engineer 

  • 1+ years of experience in mission design and/or systems engineering 
  • Contributes to subsystem design and analysis under guidance

ShapeSenior Mission Systems Engineer 

  • 7+ years of experience in mission design and systems engineering 
  • Experience supervising a team of mission systems engineers 
  • Responsible for delegation of technical responsibilities 
  • Leads the definition of mission architecture. 

Main responsibilities: 

  • Identify and characterize mission needs, expected performance, and safety goals. 
  • Define the system-level architecture and develop the initial functional specifications. 
  • Lead the definition and flow-down of high-level mission and system requirements to subsystems (Platform, Propulsion, Payload, GNC, Robotics) and maintain the System Requirements Document (SRD) throughout the project lifecycle. 
  • Lead system-level trade-offs and architecture down-selection based on a balanced analysis of performance, budget, schedule, and technical risk. 
  •  Define and manage the interfaces for the Launch Segment and Ground Segment, assessing their impact on the mission profile and spacecraft design. 
  • Own and manage the Interface Control Documents (ICDs) to ensure seamless integration between the Platform, Propulsion and Payload (Robotics). 
  • Produce and maintain all critical system budgets, including Mass, Power, Propellant, Data, Link budgets. 
  • Monitor and report on system margins against industry standards (e.g., ECSS). 
  • Define the Verification & Validation (V&V) process, supervise Model-in-the-Loop (MiL) Software-in-the-Loop (SiL), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) verification process. 
  •  Oversee Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT) activities, oversee the qualification campaign and environmental tests (Thermal Vacuum, Vibration, EMI/EMC). 
  • Act as the primary technical investigator for system-level anomalies, identifying causes and suggesting robust solutions during both development and mission operations. 
  • Develop the Concept of Operations (ConOps) for all mission phases, with a focus on the Rendezvous and Proximity phases. 
  • and validate proximity trajectories to ensure mission safety while optimizing for d-V efficiency. 
  • Conduct continuous analysis of system performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing optimizations to meet mission-specific KPIs. 
  •  Support the coordination and planning of spacecraft procurement and mission milestones. 
  • Provide technical leadership in writing project proposals, funding documents, and bidding contracts for customers and institutional partners. 
  • Maintain transparent and regular technical reporting to the internal team and external customers, ensuring alignment on mission progress and risk posture. 

Requirements: 

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Familiarity with space standards (e.g., ECSS, NASA, MIL-STD). 
  • Solid background in orbital mechanics and space mission analysis. 
  • Good written and spoken English. 

Nice to have: 

  • Experience with rendezvous and proximity operations (RPO) or formation flying. 
  • Experience in Mission Analysis area. 
  • Experience with ECSS standards and early-phase mission documentation. 
  • Previous involvement in ESA, institutional, or R&D space projects.

Salary:  

  • Junior: 4 806 – 10 000 Polish Zlotych (gross) / month 
  • Mid: 10 000 – 15 000 Polish Zlotych (gross) / month 
  • Senior: 15 000 – 20 000 Polish Zlotych (gross) / month
