Within Horizon 2020 Programme PIAP Space with the European consortium has started the European Robotic Orbital Support Services EROSS Project. The main goal is to integrate building blocks designed under previous OG projects in order to perform demonstration of the On-Orbit Servicing Satellite capabilities.
EROSS Project is another Operational Grant Project of Horizon 2020 Programme. The main goal is to integrate building blocks designed under previous OG projects in order to perform demonstration of On-Orbit Servicing Satellite capabilities.
EROSS Project will also boost the maturity of these key building blocks and increase their functionality and performance in a coherent work programme, which aims at a fast and practical deployment of the developed solutions in space. The project will also provide input information for assessment of servicing tasks for non-collaborative orbital targets.
The project will last 24 months, in this time such phases are foreseen:
- System requirements establishment,
- Preliminary design,
- Detailed System design,
- Manufacturing, assembly and integration phase,
- Tests and validation with following analysis of the results.
EROSS is also about enabling a new range of applications by leveraging on EU and ESA developments to foster the European capabilities.
Consortium led by Thales Alenia Space France (TASF) consist of 10 partners: GMV, NTUA, PIAP Space, SENER, SINTEF, SODERN, SPACEAPPS, TASI, TASUK.
