The New Year has begun and with it changes at PIAP Space

The beginning of the 2023 year is an opportunity for reflection and plans for the next period. Therefore, and in connection with the end of the 1st Term of the Board of PIAP Space, we present a brief summary of the first period of the company’s activity especially since Mateusz Wolski is stepping down from his business position on January 1, 2023.

PIAP Space was established in 2016 as a spin-off from the Industrial Institute for Automation and Measurements PIAP and at the same time became the first state-owned company actively operating in the space sector. From the beginning, the Company has consistently pursued a strategy of building competences in the field of space robotics and MGSE. The Company’s major successes include:

– Winning the first contract for the PIAP Space system with the flight qualification – the LAR gripper development in the EROSS IOD project;

– Winning and implementing the Titan robotic arm for in-orbit servicing;

– Building a portfolio of competences and products in the MGSE segment;

– Implementation and certification of a quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001.

PIAP Space is one of the leading companies in the Polish space sector, well recognised in Europe and with a unique technology portfolio. The company has a exeptional team of engineers and specialists, a strong R&D background in robotics and a consistent capital commitment from the owners. With the completion of the 1st Term Board, the incubation period, preparing the company for full-scale operations, is coming to an end.

The 1st Term Board was guided by the idea of creating a strong, state-owned company operating in the space industry. The goal has been achieved.
